About Our Programs



Its no surprise that 85% of high school graduates have no idea what to do after high school but the interesting and unfortunate parallel is that 86% of working adults feel like they are in the wrong job. The obvious parallel cannot be ignored: Those who leave high school without a career plan often becomes dissatisfied working adults. STRIVE For Students is here to help educators' help students define an ideal career field and give them the essential tools to obtain career success and satisfaction.


Discovery Career Camp

The STRIVE For Students Discovery Career Camp program is designed to help students who lack career direction discover and build successful and satisfying careers. We accomplish this through a fun, interactive and motivating curriculum that give students the tools they'll need to succeed in a career field they'll enjoy.


Career Assessment

Our Learning for Excellence® DiSC® assessment encompasses a behavioral assessment model that provides a 20-page report detailing individualized information, to help students toward academic success, as well as provide career direction. The Job Indicator included in the assessment result report helps students to identify an individual career plan. Students get tips on how to communicate more effectively, plus study tips that will help them succeed in school and on-the-job. Results include Department of Labor job codes for further career exploration and research.


Career Development Part I and II

These two workshops focus on two essential career-related areas:
· CD Part I, Job Search Skills: The basics including applications, resumes, interviews, appropriate dress, and networking for career opportunities.
CD Part II, Employability Skills: Workplace ethics and etiquette, what it takes to get ahead in the workplace, handling difficult situations, what employers look in the top candidates they hire plus building positive work relationships.


Career Exploration

This seminar walks participants through their chosen career field, how to research the available resources and the additional training they'll need:
· Universities, colleges, and post-secondary schools
· Scholarships and where to find them
· Apprenticeship, internship and certification programs
· Building networks for mentoring and job opportunities


CareerMapping©

This workshop puts it all together - with career planning and goal setting.

Once students identify a chosen career field including the mechanics of getting, building, and keeping a successful career they'll need a game plan, and CareerMapping© does just that! Participants in this program create an individual Career DreamBook©, which teaches students the power of identifying, creating, visualizing and achieving goals.


Career Directions

This program is designed to work in compliment with any classroom environment. Teachers make a commitment to spend one hour per week toward each component of this three-part program.
· Students learn the value of understanding their individual style of communicating and how it relates to the work environment.
· Students discover an ideal career field, suited ideally for their interests and natural abilities.
· Students create a DreamBook© throuh the concept of collabrative or team achievement.
· Students learn the power of how helping others helps them to achieve success.
· Students improve communication skills and learn to work on teams more successfully.

Part One
Using the on-line deliverable, DiSC® Learning for Excellence assessment students are able to identify and ideal career field plus look at how their communication and behavior in the classroom translates to the workplace. Students can further study the JOB INDICATOR on www.doc.gov.

Part Two
With our Finding your CPZ (Career Passion Zone) program students work their way through a workbook with 20 thought provoking questions about finding a career passion and how it relates their assessment results.

Part Three
Students bring it all together with the introduction of Dream Circles for Success! They learn how to take their assessment results plus career passions to create an individual DreamBook© through the concept of team achievement

Our Career Directions program helps educators working to assist special needs students to transition from school to work by teaching them to:

Dream Circles for Success

Achievement through team collaboration

What is a Dream Circle?
A Dream Circle is any group of people who make a commitment
to meet on a regular basis with the intent of helping one another
achieve their dreams and goals.

Why use Dream Circles?
1. To empower teams to achieve their personal and professional goals through the dynamic concept of collaborative achievement.
2. To illustrate the value of using trust to build strong working relationships that create win-win scenarios.
3. To recognize and eliminate destructive behaviors that often jeopardize team success.
4. To remind teams that that having fun produces more positive results and successful outcomes.
5. To provide a safe and trusting environment from which to achieve.

Finding Your CPZ - (Career Passion Zone)
We offer this program at no charge to any High School with a $2 per student donation to cover the cost of printing the workbook that accompanies program presentation.

With our Finding your CPZ (Career Passion Zone) program students work their way through a workbook with 20 thought provoking questions about finding a career passion. Students take a close look at their values, the natural strengths and abilities plus their career interests and "if only" dreams to construct a well defined career path…one they are excited about!

· Advanced financial living skills, discover how to make your money work for you through saving and financial investing. Learn how to successfully plan for your financial future.
· Cultural diversity and appreciation, learn about different cultures, how to respect differences and become comfortable with anyone.
· Interpersonal effectiveness, learn the fine art of social skills, from simple, basic conversations to dealing with difficult situations and people.
· Leadership and decision making, become skilled at the process of decision making and knowing what to do when you're not sure what to do.
